OUR LANGUAGE SCHOOL IN SALVADOR DA BAHÍA
GEOGRAPHICAL LOCATIONS: The Sprachcaffe Language School in Salvador da Bahia was first opened in 2006, and is our primary language school in Brazil. The school has 4 classrooms, a library for study hours, a coffee shop to talk and meet other students, and a classroom with computers and Internet access. The school is located in the city of Salvador da Bahia and only a few meters away from the magnificent beaches of Brazil. The beaches Praia do Forte and Morro de Sao Paulo are ideal for water sports and activities, and just for enjoying the wonderful atmosphere of the city.

LEARNING MATERIAL: Our teachers make use of different educational materials and resources in their classes. Students can benefit from a variety of tasks, texts and approaches to learning.
EXTRACURICULAR ACTIVITIES: The closeness of the beach allows our students to participate in a variety of sports, from volleyball, windsurfing and swimming among others. Lovers of scuba diving or snorkeling can enjoy beautiful beaches by diving in coral reefs just a few miles from school. To get off the beach just enjoy a relaxing stroll in the beautiful city of San Salvador.
CAPOIRA AND SAMBA: Would you like to learn Capoeira? Now our school offers courses in Capoeira. You can learn this martial art made famous in Brazil, and at the same time learn Portuguese. Capoeira courses will help you learn first hand about the traditional Brazilian culture. The percussion has been a pioneer and founder of all genres of music and dances of South America and Brazil, and of course it is impossible to imagine a typical carnival without this essential Brazilian sound.
Why not learn to dance Samba in our school Sprachcaffe of Salvador de Bahia: you will not only enjoy your dance classes, but also be able to practice dancing in Brazilian dance clubs. Come and learn Portuguese to the rhythm of samba.
PORTUGUESE COURSES: In our school in Salvador da Bahia we offer Portuguese courses for all levels from absolute beginner to advanced. On the first day, you will take a test and will be placed in the level most suitable for you.
The courses are held from Monday to Friday: educational material on loan will be given during class. There are no classes during holidays.
OUR TEACHERS: Our teachers are all native speakers, highly qualified and have an academic education. After the lessons, they are available to give advice and assistance on any problems with the language and to awnser questions about local cultural and sporting events. They may spend their free time with our guests and, of course, for students taking a business language course, they will provide special materials for class.
TEACHING METHOD: Our teaching method is based on the "principle of conversation" because the study of language should be aimed mainly at putting into practice the grammatical and lexical aspects of the language:
LESSONS: The class is based essentially on the principle of conversation. This is achieved through intensive training in structured role-play, guided dialogs, audio-listening and reading cultural, social, and political essays and articles related to the host country.
CERTIFICATE: At the end of the course each student will receive a certificate attesting to the number of lessons taken and the language level achieved.

PRIVATE INSTRUCTION: One-to-one language training is the quickest and most intensive way to learn a language or to improve your language skills. The format of the lessons is totally determined by the needs and desires of the student. The hours of this course are flexible which makes it possible to book such a course together with another course option.
This course is also ideal as a tutoring or support course to focus on problem areas. You decide the number of daily lessons: two, four or six. All aspects of the language are taught in as short a time possible without being overly demanding.

ACADEMIC LANGUAGE COURSE: The Academic Term / Exam Preparation Course at Sprachcaffe / Language PLUS is structured similar to the Standard Language Course, however the goals and objectives are structured for long term study. Thus it is ideal for students who which to attain a more in-depth and continuous study of the language and also for those interested in sitting for any of the major language exams, such as the PET, FCE, CAE, CPE, TOEFL, DELE, DELF, DALF, CILS and DSH. The examination fees are not included in the course price and students have to pay extra for materials.
Completing an Academic Term at Sprachcaffe / Language PLUS will help earn important qualifications and is perfect for those seeking the challenges and goals of meeting university entrance requirements. SPRACHCAFFE SALVADOR DA BAHIA - ACCOMODATION IN SALVADOR DA BAHÍA
In Salvador da Bahia there are three types of accommodation, from which you will have the option to choose that which suits you best depending on your needs. Through each of the options you will be able to interact with people, either with natives in the case of families, or with other students, as to be able to practice what was studied in class.
Host Family in Salvador da Bahía
Sprachcaffe personally selects host families. We take into account the distance from the school (between around 15 or 30 minutes by public transport). A coordinator will always be available to resolve any questions regarding accommodation.
Our criteria in selecting families are:
THE AVAILABILITY OF THE FAMILY
Living with a family allows practicing Portuguese after class. Our families can be any of the following: married couples with or without children or single parents who have enough time to share with their guests. With this type of accommodation you will have the opportunity to learn about the customs and Brazilian cuisine. You will be staying in an individual room, with breakfast or half board.
APARTMENTS IN SALVADOR DA BAHÍA
Our apartments come with single and double rooms. Each room is fully equipped with a private bath, and cleaned once a week by the staff of the company. The kitchen is fully equipped and is shared. The apartments are located next to the school. The double rooms are shared with other students, always of the same sex, same age and of a different nationality.
HOTEL ACCOMMODATION IN SALVADOR DA BAHÍA
We worked with several hotels to be able to offer customers the best service. Normally the hotels are within walking distance from school, and often double or single rooms are include with maid service and breakfast. |
