LINGUATIME TEACHERS
Linguatime teachers have been carefully selected not just for their qualifications but also for their ability to inspire, motivate and instill confidence in their students in order for them to use English to the maximum of their ability. Linguatime teachers hold a teachers’ warrant issued by the Ministry of Education together with qualifications in the teaching of English as a foreign language. All teachers are native speakers of English and are well equipped in the use of new and exciting student-centred learning and teaching methods to help you learn quickly and effectively. Linguatime School of English is strategically situated on the Sliema seafront with breathtaking views of St Julian's Bay. Sliema is one of the largest commercial and residential towns on the island. It provides a welcome escape from the hustle and bustle of Valletta and the noise and bright lights of St Julian’s.
Linguatime is conveniently located on Tower Road, the main promenade of Sliema, metres away from the beach and close to the commercial centre, restaurants, banks, supermarkets and internet cafes. Sliema offers a reliable public transport service making it easy to commute. The bus stop is less than 1 minute from our English language school.
Sliema is a town for all ages. You can have a refreshing swim in the clear blue Mediterranean sea, shop till you drop or relax in an open-air café and watch the world go by. At night try your luck at the casino or dance the night away in one of the numerous bars and clubs in nearby Paceville.

If you are an employer and would like your staff to learn English as well as perfect particular business skills, then our Business English courses are what you are looking for. At Linguatime we offer a range of courses to cover different needs and levels of ability. Teenagers and adults are placed in separate classes to ensure that each individual within the group gets the maximum benefit from the selected course.
GENERAL ENGLISH COURSE
This is the most popular course at Linguatime School of English. It is available all year round in all seasons and in different class levels, from elementary to advanced. The course is designed to enable you to communicate more effectively in English. Our teachers provide a well-balanced programme, giving you plenty of practice in all the language skills (listening and speaking, reading and writing), using a variety of materials and teaching methods. There is a special emphasis on Everday English which you can use in real-life situations. The study and use of grammar and pronunciation are equally important in this course. We encourage you to improve your level by giving regular tests and progress reports in order for you to see continuous improvement.
GENERAL ENGLISH INTENSIVE
This is a combination course consisting of 20 lessons of General English in the morning and 10 private lessons in the afternoon. This course enables students to get extra practice in English and learn at a faster pace. During the private lessons you can consolidate your General English studies or focus on an area of particular interest.
GENERAL ENGLISH INTENSIVE GROUP
This course is especially designed for students who want to improve their conversation skills. Students take 20 lessons of General English in the morning and 10 group lessons in the afternoon. The afternoon lessons have a special focus on speaking and are designed to give you more confidence in conversation in both formal and informal situations.
GENERAL ENGLISH PRIVATE TUITION
This course is recommended for those who wish to benefit from intensive personal tuition and who have limited time available for studying English. It is also the course we recommend for beginners who need individual attention. The programme of each course is tailor-made according to the needs and requests of the student. The Private Tuition course is flexible and the students can choose the number of lessons according to their own preferences. Lessons can be held in the morning or afternoon.
EXAM PREPARATION
EXAM PREPARATION COURSES
Students requiring an internationally recognised qualification in English can take one of Linguatime’s exam preparation courses. Whether you would like to study in an English-speaking university, find a job in an English-speaking country or boost your career prospects you will need an international English certificate. Linguatime offers preparation courses in the following exams: Cambridge ESOL Examinations, including FCE, CAE and CPE, IELTS and TOEFL.
All exam preparation courses are available all year round. The duration varies from 4 to 13 weeks depending on the student’s level of English. To thoroughly prepare for the exam we always recommend a study period of 10 – 13 weeks. The courses consist of 20 group lessons in the morning in which you will perfect the four language skills (listening and speaking, reading and writing) and 10 private lessons in the afternoon which focus on exam preparation skills specific to your chosen exam. During the private lessons you will be given a personal study plan to ensure you maximise your study time.
CAMBRIDGE ESOL EXAMINATIONS
FCE (First Certificate in English): FCE is an upper-intermediate level exam, at level B2 of the Council of Europe’s Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. This exam has widespread recognition in clerical, secretarial and managerial jobs, especially in the tourism industry.

CAE (CERTIFICATE IN ADVANCED ENGLISH): CAE is an advanced level exam, at level C1 of the Council of Europe's Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. CPE (CERTIFICATE OF PROFICIENCY IN ENGLISH): CPE is the highest level exam, at level C2 of the Council of Europe's Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. IELTS (INTERNATIONAL ENGLISH LANGUAGE TESTING SYSTEM): The IELTS exam is used to assess the language ability of students wishing to study or work in an English speaking country. It is recognised by educational institutions, employers, immigration authorities and professional bodies worldwide. This qualification assesses the student in all the four language skills and is graded at nine levels (pre-intermediate to advanced).

LINGUATIME - BUSINESS ENGLISH COURSES
BUSINESS ENGLISH COURSE: The focus of this course is on the language needed to achieve core business skills. You will study in a mini-group with a maximum of 6 people. The course consists of 20 business lessons per week. It is aimed at people who need to communicate effectively in English at work and covers those skills needed for making presentations, negotiating, writing professional letters, faxes, emails and reports, making and answering enquiries, telephoning and participating effectively in meetings. The course is designed according to the students’ needs and business requirements.
BUSINESS ENGLISH PRIVATE TUITION: Students can maximise their studies by taking this private tuition course which is individually designed to meet the needs of professionals wanting to work confidently and successfully in the international language of today’s increasing business world. It is ideal for business people who have limited time available for practicing English. During this one-to-one course you can choose to focus on a number of skills you need practice in.
LINGUATIME MALTA ACCOMMODATION
We offer a selection of good quality accommodation to choose from. Whether you would like the cultural experience of living with an English speaking host family, the multinational environment of a shared apartment or the independence of a hotel or a private apartment we will help you find something to suit your needs. Our accommodation is secure, comfortable and conveniently located.
SELF-CATERING APARTMENTS
Our self-catering apartments are ideal for students who like their independence. Living in shared apartments offers students the opportunity to make friends with all other Linguatime students living in the apartments. All apartments are within walking distance from the school (5 to 15 minutes walk).
The apartments are well kept and fully equipped with a kitchen and all cooking facilities, cutlery and utensils. Two sets of bed linen are provided upon arrival. Students are to bring their own towels. Alternatively, students can rent towels for 5 Euros per towel. Every apartment is cleaned once a week by the school. All apartments include a tv & dvd player and free wifi connection is available in the common room.
The apartments are shared by several students from Linguatime and we offer a cleaning service once a week, however, we request that the apartments are kept clean and tidy at all times in order to be considerate towards the other students living in the apartments.
A launderette is available for students at an extra cost. - A deposit of Euro 100 is requested upon arrival for any damage.
LINGUATIME – HOMESTAY ACCOMMODATION
Living with a Maltese family gives you the opportunity to experience the Maltese culture and way of life; it also offers our students better opportunities to speak in English outside the school. Host family accommodation consists of shared accommodation (maximum 4 in one room) and is inclusive of breakfast and an evening meal. A packed lunch (full board) and a single room can be booked at an extra cost.
All our host families are carefully selected and licensed by MTA (Malta Tourism Authority). www.mta.com.mt. Linguatime’s host families are centrally located and within walking distance of the school (10 to 25 minutes walk or a 5 to 10 minute bus ride). All our families are English speaking and offer a friendly atmosphere in their homes.
Linguatime takes good care when selecting host families. We request that the family has a good standard of spoken English and that their home is adequate for hosting students and kept clean. A fan during the hot months and a heater in the cold months will be provided and both bed linen and towels are changed once a week. The host family does help out with the laundry, though this is to be discussed with the family.
Breakfast consists of coffee / tea, cereal with milk or toast with butter or jam. The packed lunch is optional and is made up of two sandwiches, mineral water and fruit while dinner is a three-course meal inclusive of dessert and mineral water. Dinner is served at around 6 - 8pm so that students are free to go out in the evening, either alone or to an activity organised by the school.

A large number of hotels can be found in the vicinity of our English language school. Hotels on our list range from two to four star and most have a TV in the room, air-conditioning and a swimming pool.

Le Méridien St. Julians overlooks the shimmering Balluta Bay and consists of 276 comfortable guest rooms,. All rooms have been totally refurbished and new facilities have recently been added.
