LEARN SPANISH AT A SPANISH LANGUAGE SCHOOL

To learn Spanish in Spain, our Spanish language schools use a teaching method that allows students to develop the four basic skills of language learning: listening comprehension, speaking, reading and writing.

The aim is to learn the Spanish language in a natural and spontaneous way, just as students have learned their mother tongue. All of our Spanish language students are encouraged to speak Spanish from the very first day using it in typical real-life situations. The basic syllabus is supplemented by special exercises such as role-play, situational dialogues, project work and the use of audio-visual facilities. Class sizes are small with an average of 7-8-10 students per group. This helps ensure personal attention and the opportunity for self-expression.

All of our Spanish language courses are based on 6 different levels from beginner to advanced level and follows the system approved by the “Common European Framework of Reference for Languages”.

BASIC LEVEL – you will learn how to form grammatical and communicative structures in Spanish, such as greetings, giving an opinion and conjugating verbs in the present tense. You will also acquire a basic understanding of Spanish culture and society.

ELEMENTARY LEVEL – you will increase your level of grammar and vocabulary and you will be able to express yourself functionally in various communicative contexts. You will also acquire a greater awareness of Spanish culture and society.

INTERMEDIATE – you will achieve a certain level of fluency in the Spanish language accompanied by a greater comprehension of the Spanish way of life. By improving your understanding of linguistic structures you will start to communicate more effectively.

ADVANCED – you will expand upon your ability to debate and express opinions in detail, to link phrases and sentences and to converse about more specific topics outside the area of commonplace linguistic exchanges. You will focus on the subjunctive in all its contexts and comparing it with the indicative.

SUPERIOR – you will already have a solid understanding of the Spanish language and you will learn to express your ideas at a more abstract level by perfecting your grammar skills and gaining a wider knowledge of the Spanish culture.

PROFICIENCY – for language students with a high command of the Spanish language who want to perfect all areas of linguistic proficiency in order to become bilingual. You will develop a global perspective of Spanish culture in relation to your particular field of interest. All of our students receive a certificate of attendance and achievement at the end of their Spanish language course which will record their current level of the language.

ACCOMMODATION IN SPAIN

To maximise your learning on your Spanish language course we recommend that you stay with one of our carefully chosen Spanish host families. Staying with a Spanish host family provides you with a 'total immersion' in the Spanish language as the family will normally only speak to you in Spanish. This helps you learn Spanish more quickly.

You will have your own private bedroom and your host family will normally provide you with breakfast and evening meal each day.

Some of our Spanish language schools also offer residence, apartment and hotel accommodation. Residences can be catered or self-catering. In shared apartment students have their own private bedroom and share the kitchen, bathroom and living room with other students.

CENSU -Discounts are available for 2 students sharing a twin room. All of our accommodation options are within easy reach of our Spanish language schools.

SOCIAL AND CULTURAL ACTIVITIES

We understand that learning the Spanish language does not stop when you leave the classroom. That is why all of our Spanish language schools offer a supplementary social and cultural activity programme during afternoons, evenings and weekends.

These include museum visits, language exchanges with local native students, conferences on local history, art and literature. Some activities are offered free of charge.
