CHINESE LANGUAGE SCHOOLS
We visit all of our Chinese language schools to make sure that you receive the highest standard of teaching, facilities and accommodation available in your chosen location. Choosing a Chinese course can be a daunting prospect, which is why we offer an advisory service before, during and after your course.
We can help you plan the trip, book your flight, organise your travel insurance and test your level of Chinese.
All of our Chinese language schools use a teaching method that allows students to develop the four basic skills of language learning: listening comprehension, speaking, reading and writing. The aim is to learn the language in a natural and spontaneous way, just as students have learned their mother tongue.
All of our students are encouraged to speak in the target language from the very first day using it in typical real-life situations. The basic syllabus is supplemented by special exercises such as role-play, group dynamics, vocabulary games, and the use of audio-visual facilities.
Class sizes are small with an average of 6 students per group. This helps ensure personal attention and the opportunity for self-expression.
All of our Chinese courses are based on 5 main levels from beginner to advanced level. All of our students receive a certificate of attendance and achievement at the end of their course.
ACCOMMODATION IN CHINA
To maximise your language learning on your Chinese course we recommend that you stay with one of our carefully chosen Chinese host families. Staying with a Chinese host family provides you with a 'total immersion' in the Chinese language as the family will normally only speak to you in Chinese.
This helps you learn the language more quickly. You will have your own private bedroom and your host family will normally provide you with breakfast and evening meal each day.
SOCIAL AND CULTURAL ACTIVITIES
We understand that learning the Chinese language does not stop when you leave the classroom. That is why all of our Chinese language schools offer a supplementary social and cultural activity programme during afternoons, evenings and weekends.
These include Chinese calligraphy, paper cutting, dumpling making, water painting, visits to acrobatic shows, and museums, martial arts, shopping and excursions to water towns and ancient towns. Some activities are offered free of charge.

STUDY IN SHANGHAI, CHINA
Subject of famous movies such as Shanghai Triad and Empire of the Sun, Shanghai is a city that truly offers something for everyone. The city will capture you with its lively atmosphere created by festivals, street vendors, booming business and first and foremost, people that are truly warm and hospitable. You will be able to experience all of Shanghai’s historical richness moving between French-influenced Tudor mansions exemplifying past splendor, Old Town with its historic dwellings and temples and ultra-modern buildings which seem to be looking into the future. Shanghai is a paradise for shoppers and gourmets alike and provides non-stop action in its many clubs and venues for outdoor activities. For those looking to find some time away from the hustle and bustle of the city, Shanghai also provides many opportunities to retreat into one of its many green spaces, to practice early-morning tai chi alongside the locals or engage in yoga and meditation.
While in Shanghai, you may also want to wander beyond the city’s borders and join your Chinese hosts in strolling along the banks of beautiful Hangzhou’s West Lake taking in the views which are quintessentially Chinese. Being in the Yangzi River Delta, it is a must to visit some of the quaint and picturesque canal towns. And for those wanting to get as far away from Shanghai’s city life as possible, Moganshan’s mist-shrouded mountains will provide a true retreat that will entice you to just soak in the spectacular sunset while doing absolutely nothing.
China's famous philosopher, Lao Tsu suggested that “He who knows others is wise, he who knows himself is illuminated.” What better way to accomplish both than join CENSU and like-minded students in Shanghai. |
